Chapter 78. Confrontation
“Why did you tell this to me just now?” I said with my shaky voice. I wiped my tears while calming myself down.
“Because I like Gabriel for my sister. I saw how he took care of Alessandra in a short span of time. He married my sister despite his condition. I know he learned to love Alessandra and I want it to stay that way.”
“And besides, it looks like your Mom opposes your relationship with the old Gabriel...” he clearly enunciated.
He leaned against the backrest, scrutinizing me and waiting for my reply.
“He’s my husband,” I said with finality.
He casted his gaze onto to the floor and his eyes darkened. He glanced back up with a silly smirk on his face. “You are?” he said with an insulting tone.
I shifted on my seat, hand clasps into a fist. I want to punch him in the face for real, but I chose to be calm and collected.
“I’m his legal wife. I’m just placing myself,” I flashed him a genuine smile.
