Chapter 22
It was like a nightmare to Ava. Her visions were blurry, the sounds were muffled and only the scariest memories were left. Her nightmares which had been lost somewhere in her memories and it had suddenly returned. It was as clear as the light of day.
She clutched her chest in anguish. “You are lying to me, Isabella.” Her face was stinging and hot. “You are lying to me.”
“I am not, Ava. I did not wish to tell you because I knew how much it would hurt you. That is why I never said anything.”
Icy chills curled up Ava’s spine and sat there. It is a lie. It is nothing but a lie.
Isabella reached out to touch her but she flinched away and jumped to her feet. “Don’t touch me,” she shouted. She wheeled to leave but collided with the waitress who was bringing in their orders. Despite the juice on her clothes, she ran out of the restaurant without looking back.
Her hands and legs, trembling violently.
