Gwen stood, unhooked her top, and tossed it on a nearby chair. “I guess I have to fight fire with fire. Now let’s get back to work before Mom and Dad get home. They may not appreciate our healing efforts, although it sure looks like Steve does!”

Steve alternated between embarrassment and lust as his nurses worked with surprising efficiency on his bandages. Within a matter of ten minutes they were putting their tops back on and leaving his room. He could hear them laughing all the way up the stairs. He pulled on a pair of sweats and limped to the kitchen where he took a soft drink from the refrigerator and sat down at the table. He had just managed his first swallow when Kate entered the room.

“It looks like you have fresh bandages already! I thought I was going to help this time. People were talking about you and Gwen at the store this afternoon. They were saying that you guys made everyone cry when you sang that song at the funeral. No one can believe how good you are.
