Chapter 109

The next morning Steve managed to finally take a shower after Gwen cut his bandages off. He had been relying on sponge baths and felt like he was becoming quite grungy. He gingerly soaped everything he could with his good arm while keeping the water stream from landing on his wounds. He spent more time in the shower than usual as a result of his limitations. As he stepped out of the shower, he picked up the towel and began drying what he could with his good arm.

“Here, let me help you,” offered Gwen as Steve almost feinted. “You’ll never be able to dry yourself with that bad arm. Just stand still and let me take care of everything.”

“Gwen! What about your mom? You’d better get out of here before you get caught! We’ll both be in trouble. She’ll be mad at me. I promised that I’d behave in her home.”
