Chapter 265

They left for Paris early the following morning Gale sitting in front with John, and Louis in the back of the car between Darcy and Rachael. It was almost as if they were one family returning home. Darcy thought of her father waiting for his son’s return.

When they landed in Michigan Gale found his mother waiting for them at the VIP arrival parking. Mrs Harris had been waiting for them, and her eyes went directly to Darcy as she crossed from the revolving doors.

Darcy felt her heart turn over at the prospect of disapproval, but the dark eyes which were so like her sons were nothing but filled with relief.

“I am so glad to see you safely back,” she said. “If Rachel had told me earlier then I would have never let you go alone. Rachael or Gale should have gone with you. Poor Darcy, I was thinking we haven’t been a great deal of help to you, I am afraid but thankfully Gale reached on time.”

“Gale has done everything.” The admission had been quite natural and Darc
