Chapter 8. Families and Hormones (3)

Everyone discreetly looked around, but as soon as SooJin sighed again and looked forward, we averted our gazes as if nothing had happened.

"Okay, time for the birthday song."

We still waited a little for everyone to gather around us. I see SiJoon returning with Nabi in his arms, and he's so attached to the little girl that she looks like a tiny purple ball in his arms. My mother-in-law holds Noram and stands next to everyone, smiling as she looks at us.

SooJin starts the countdown, indicating when we should proceed, and as the time comes, voices rise, singing and celebrating my Jiwan's first year of life.

"Who will it be..."

"Don't even try."

Doyun tries, but JunKoo interrupts him instantly, making all of us smile, including Doyun, who anticipated his friend's action.

"You're such a killjoy," he says, pointing at JunKoo.

"Says the one who'll see it when yours grow up. You have four. Four!"

"Wow," Doyun finally realizes, and I smi
