Chapter 38. The Incident
The evening sun cast long shadows on the ground. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky. The sky was ablaze with the fire of the setting sun. The night sky was aglow with bright city lights.
Rick is still out in the streets, looking for innocent victims to stalk and prey on. The more he had the taste of human blood direct from their arteries, the more he wanted to have.
His conscience for humans is off. Who could turn it back on? Losing Nancy made him turn off his conscience. He feels no pity for humans or remorse after sinking his pointy fangs into their necks.
“Hello, Mister,” a lady called out. She peered toward the alley. “Is everything alright?”
Rick was in the alley, acting weak and helpless, just to lure the innocent lady into the alley. He didn’t respond to the lady but purposely slumped to his knees, pretending to sob uncontrollably.
