Chapter 61. No Way out

*** MRS. BRICK’S HOUSE ***

“Someone… help…” Mia squeezes out in a faint voice. “Help me…”

Mia has yelled her voice out for the past few hours. No one could hear her. She’s locked inside a cage in an underground bunker in Mrs. Brick’s backyard. A bunker where Mrs. Brick would carry out most of her deadly rituals. A secret place only she knew existed.

Mia tried to stand, but her strength failed her. It will take more than just a weak moral to focus on a spell.

The only source of light in the bunker is just a few bulbs; some flickering continuously and the rest very dim to even brightly light the place.

She crawled to the iron door of the cage. Her vision is blurring. Holding the iron door, she attempted to stand to her feet but she fell, just like the previous times she tried.

“Grams,” she squeezes out once more. Her voice was faint, and no one around her could even hear her. “Please, don’t…do this…” she pants slowly.
