Chapter 60. Family Tree

Dave hasn’t given up on his quest to find the hybrid that killed his mother during their ritual. He followed the lead a warlock friend gave him about a hybrid that moved into New Orleans.

The lead led him to a white house that he partly built with brick. Standing on the porch, he pushed the doorbell.

“Ding dong!” the bell goes.

He has waited for this moment and wants to get his revenge. The door wasn’t immediately answered.

“Ding dong!”

He pushed the bell again and again until the door was answered.

The door slowly opened as Eva stood by the door. “Can I help you?” She brushes her long blonde hair back and continued to stare at the stranger.

“My car broke down, I was wondering if I could use your phone.” Dave immediately cooked up a story.

“Sorry, I don’t invite strangers into my house,” she said, closing the door.

Dave waged the door with his foot. With a hand gesture, she flings Eva into the house. He had no idea who she was. H
