“What was that all about?” Daryl scowled at Rick.

Rick hissed, ignoring his brother as he took his leave.

Daryl gripped Rick’s arm and pulled him back. “What the hell was that back there!” he lashed out in anger.

“Let go of me!” Rick pulled away and shoved Daryl backward. He gnawed and the bottom of his lips. “I don’t know why you are soft with the vampire bloodlines. Where is that ruthless in you?”

“You don’t understand,” Daryl said, lowering his head slightly.

“Then make me understand!” Rick growled.

Breathing with a sigh of relief, Daryl raised his head. His eyes seared Rick. “They’re like family to me, remembering me who I am.”

“Seriously?” Rick gaped at him with surprise.

“Yes, they are like family, Rick,” Daryl repeated.

Daryl enjoys hanging out with the vampire bloodlines because they remind him of who he is. He feels strong knowing he’s who he is without his brother wanting to change
