Chapter 47. Hello Jack

Hours later of Deputy Sheriff not reporting to duty, the sheriff personally drove to his apartment to check up on him since he has not been responding to his calls or talkie. As the sheriff tactically walks around Lewis’ apartment, with his service revolver drawn out, he calls out for Lewis in a low tone, “Lewis, Lewis.”

Not hearing any response he decided to move room to room in search of him. And finally when he got to the kitchen, he saw Lewis lying on the floor of his kitchen with a knife beside him. The sheriff hurried and checked his pulse, “Lewis!” the sheriff called out.

As Lewis slowly opens his eyes the sheriff felt relieved as he asked without hesitating, “What happened?” “She was here!” Lewis replied as she sheriff helps him up. “Who was here?” the sheriff asked. “Mary, the ghost girl; she was here!” Lewis answered. “Are you sure of what you are saying?” the sheriff asked. “I am damn sure sheriff,” Lewis replied. “What the hell was she doing here?” Lewis added.
