Agent Nasir stormed back into the interrogation room, his face contorted with anger and suspicion. The intensity of his rage was palpable, causing the temperature in the room to rise as if fueled by his fury. His accusation pierced through the air, aimed directly at me.
“You killed Jax, didn’t you?” he seethed, his voice laced with venom. “You were obsessed with her, and you couldn’t handle the fact that Jax was over protective of her.”
I stared at him, disbelief etched across my face. The audacity of his accusation left me momentarily speechless. How could he, of all people, twist the truth to fit his own narrative? I had never harbored ill intentions toward Jax or sought to harm him.
“You’ve got it all wrong, Nasir,” I retorted, my voice filled with a mix of frustration and exasperation. “Yes, I cared for Vera, but that doesn’t mean I would resort to murder. I respected Jax as her brother and never saw him as a rival.”
