Sebastian enters the living room and scans his surroundings. "Where are—" He gestures all over the space. "Nathaniel and Alexander?"

"Nathaniel is changing Lance's diaper in the other room." I keep picking up the toys that Lance left strewn across the floor. "And Alexander is talking to someone out in the backyard."

With a nod, Sebastian settles into the sofa. He taps on the couch's armrest and pauses. "Hey, um." He hesitates. "Never mind."

His tapping grows louder as I pick up the plush toys, so I turn to face him. "You alright? This is not how you typically are." I finished gathering up all the toys.

"It's nothing, just drop it." He glances out into the backyard at Alexander, who, if I recall correctly, is now shouting something into his phone in Russian.
