"Jesus, this is why I don't agree to random, stupid-ass fucking races," he said. When I thought he was going to stop talking, he just continued. "I should've just said fuck the money and stayed home," he mumbled more things under his breath until he finally went quiet.
"Are you okay?" I asked softly, trying to comfort him.
"Call Aiden," he demanded.
"I can't. He'll probably get upset at me and—" He cut me off.
"Jesus, just do it," he said, then moved the stick in the center of the car. "And make sure to put him on speaker."
"Okay," I sighed.
