Chapter 21
Stanley raked his fingers against his hair before blowing a large breath. Then he looked at the worried face of his wife and held onto her hands.
“Something came up,” he squeezed his eyes shut, then opened them again.
“What about?”
“Our daughter. She’s… she’s missing.” The nervousness in his voice was evident, which made her panic, too.
“How did that happen? That international school has tight security alongside her bodyguards, so why?” Her throat became dry; the corner of her eyes sharply stung.
They walked hand in hand, heading to the parkway. Soon, they went in the car; Stanley buckled her seat belt up and sped off as if fucking demons were after them. Seconds passed when he spoke again, telling her to calm down. The last thing he wanted was to bring a threat to the baby’s health.
“I’ll send you home first before going to school,” he informed, stepping on the gas impatiently.
