I can sense the fear and anxiety emanating from him as he questions me relentlessly.
"Are you married to Rojas?" he demands, his voice laced with malice.
My hands are starting to ache from being tied behind my back for too long, but I refuse to show any signs of weakness. "Yes," I say firmly, my voice steady despite my racing heart.
Kylian's father pauses, sizing me up with his cold, calculating gaze. "I don't believe you," he sneers. "One of my men will confirm this with Rojas, and if you're lying, there will be consequences."
I try to keep my breathing steady as he leaves the room, but my mind is racing with thoughts of what those consequences might be. I'm painfully aware of the damp, musty smell of the room, and my senses are heightened to every creak and groan of the old building.
