Chapter 54
As Thomas walked out to answer his phone, I knew I had to try and escape. I was tied to the chair, facing backward, but I had to do something. I needed to get out of here.
I shifted my weight, trying to move the chair, but it was no use. Then, I had an idea. I decided to purposely fall backward, hoping to fall on the floor and maybe loosen the ropes. I took a deep breath and fell backward, hitting the floor hard. The impact caused my head to throb, but it seemed to work. The ropes loosened a bit, and I could feel some movement in my arms.
I heard footsteps approaching, and I quickly closed my eyes, pretending to be unconscious. It was a guard, and I could smell the alcohol on his breath. As he approached me, I mustered all my strength and kicked the bottle he was holding. It fell and broke, and the guard was visibly upset.
