Chapter 2

Realization dawned on Davis’s lovely face. Pink tinted her cheeks as she turned her attention from Travis to Lily to Kyle and then back to her partner. “I see,” she said.

Before she lost her nerve, Lily continued. “Some of these pictures seemed to have been taken from the balcony of my apartment, leading me to believe that they were out on the balcony while we were inside.”

“Why didn’t you call the police?” she asked.

“Because of my job.”

“And what is it that you do?”

“I’m a high school art teacher. I didn’t report it because if word got out about our relationship it would cause some friction, and I could lose my job. So I decided to come here for the weekend until we could figure out what we were going to do. It seems like we might have been followed.”
