Chapter 95. Last Chance
Detective Jones pointed his service revolver toward Nyx and fired a few shots. He didn’t miss—he had a clear shot, but the bullet passed through her. Bullets couldn’t harm a churning figure like Nyx. Detective Jones just pissed her off. With just a wave of her hand, she rolled in a dark cloud on Jones like a veil. The dark cloud wrapped Jones and tossed him away, slamming him into the pillars.
“No!” Ruby groaned, casting a mean gaze at Nyx. She raised her hand toward her, tightening it into a fist—fire engulfed her hand. She unfolded the fist, releasing a fire blast at Nyx.
As Nyx was about to move away, the fire blast knocked her off the chariot. Ruby fired a few more shots, which lit the chariot and the horses up in flames.
Nyx cried out with a loud wail as she sprang back to her feet. “You will pay for this?” she roared like an enraged beast, flying toward Ruby at a terrifying speed.
