‘OH MY GODDESS, JHOANNA!!’

Mom’s excited shriek echoed through the group mind link the moment I shared the news. It was so loud I instinctively winced, though a grin tugged at my lips.

Before I could respond, Uncle Jayden jumped in with his usual over-the-top enthusiasm.

‘Wait! Is it a boy or a girl?’ he asked, his voice practically vibrating with excitement.

‘They don’t know yet, Jayden,’ came Uncle Aidan’s slightly more restrained—but still obviously thrilled—reply. ‘You do realize it’s still early, right?’

‘Well, excuse me for being excited!’ Uncle Jayden shot back. ‘Do you know how long we’ve been waiting for this?’

‘We? You mean you've been waiting,’ Aidan corrected. ‘And you’re already acting like it’s your pup.’
