Jhoanna’s POV

“I know what you’re thinking and the answer’s no, Jhoanna.” Hans grabbed my hand gently but firmly, breaking me out of my spiraling thoughts. His piercing blue eyes met mine, calm but resolute.

“What do you mean?” I asked, even though I already had an inkling of what he was about to say.

“You’re not getting involved in this,” Hans said firmly. “You’re pregnant, Jhoanna. You’ve got enough on your plate without diving into some ancient mystery or curse.”

‘But Hans, I can’t just sit here and do nothing!’ I protested, the urgency in my voice surprising even me to the point that we didn’t notice we joined the group link. ‘If it’s true—if this curse really exists—then Luna Tilly and the Crescent Moon Pack could be in danger! I have to help.’
