The moment Uncle Aidan and Uncle Jayden learned of Luna Tilly’s disappearance, their reactions were as different as night and day, but the pain and fury they felt were equally intense. Beta Trent had barely finished explaining the situation when the air around us grew heavy with the weight of their emotions. They both released their pheromones and my mate instinctively emits his pheromones as well to shield me.

Uncle Aidan stood frozen, his usually sharp gaze clouded with disbelief. His lips parted as if to say something, but no words came out. For a man known for his unyielding composure, the sight of him so utterly lost was jarring. He clutched the crumpled note Trent had handed him, his knuckles whitening as his grip tightened. “She—she used her pheromones on us.” His voice cracked, barely above a whisper. “She put us to sleep... to leave us?”
