Jhoanna's POV

The dawn of the lunar eclipse felt heavy, as if the weight of the universe had settled over the Crescent Moon Pack. The air was thick with worry, each breath I took seemed harder than the last. 

My hand instinctively rested on my belly as if shielding the life growing within me from the chaos around us. Luna Tilly came back when she was found that day when she ran away, but her condition hadn’t improved. And, to add gas to the flame, her words haunted everyone who had heard them.

“It’s not just the curse… something else is coming. Something worse.”

The memory of her trembling voice sent goosebumps all over my body. I glanced out the window where the moon lingered, pale and distant, as though waiting for its moment to strike.
