The morning breeze swept gently through the open windows of our room, rustling the curtains as Hans carefully adjusted a blanket around my shoulders. I didn’t protest this time, too content basking in the lingering warmth of his words and the joy of hearing Luna Tilly’s news.
As I took another reluctant sip of the nausea tea—which, by some miracle, didn’t taste as awful as usual—I caught Hans watching me with that annoyingly soft expression he always seemed to have these days.
