Three days had passed since the festival, and the lingering warmth of celebration still clung to the pack. The air felt lighter, the tension of battle finally dissolving into something that resembled peace. Even the usual hum of activity around the pack grounds had taken on a more relaxed rhythm.
I, however, was not in a relaxed mood. Again..
Seated at the Alpha’s desk—since Hans insisted I stay here whilst I’m carrying out pup—I skimmed through the reports from our border patrols, my fingers tapping impatiently against the wooden surface.
