The scent of fresh bread, roasted meat and spiced cider filled the air as we entered the festival grounds, a stark contrast to the blood and violence we had left behind yesterday. The flickering lanterns illuminated the pack, casting warm, golden hues over the gathered wolves. Laughter and music wove through the night, the tension of the past days melting into celebration.
I let out a slow breath, rolling my shoulders to shake off the remnants of battle. This was what we had fought for—peace, security, the right to celebrate without the constant threat of enemies lurking in the shadows. The stolen goods were returned, our packs were safe, and tonight, we could finally enjoy ourselves.
