My precious son was three years old now, and every day with him was an adventure. His wild, unpredictable shifting hadn’t stopped, but at least we had grown accustomed to it—if barely.
Memories flashed through my mind as I watched my little moon play in the garden, his chubby fingers digging into the soft earth as he “helped” Rio plant flowers.

Hans and I had woken to a suspicious silence. With a child like Johanis, silence was never a good sign.
We had rushed into his room only to find a small, fluffy wolf pup curled up on the floor, his tiny tail twitching. Scattered around him were shredded pieces of his blanket, which he had clearly destroyed in his sleep.
