“I don’t want you girls fighting,” those were the first words Clayton said to his daughter as they got out of earshot from Mirabel and Stephanie.
Evie looked grim, she felt a bad feeling in her guts, realizing she had just shouted at her elder sister a few minutes back, it felt horrible, she didn’t mean to do it, but something had snapped within her.
She weakly smiled at her father, “It’s normal to have sibling scuffle.” she said lightly, chuckling for her father to notice that it wasn’t something she had taken to heart.
They continued walking the length of the garden, heading for the little pond with marble benches and shade. “So, how have you been? how did you guys survive for this long without me?” Clayton eagerly asked, wanting to find out how his daughters fared. He knew at this moment that he didn’t deserve them in his life, he didn’t do anything in his power to keep them safe or even leave people to protect them even though he trusted they’d be out of harm’s
