The confrontation with Liam doesn’t leave my head over the next few days.
The hatred in his eyes as he spoke of my father, the bitterness at speaking his name. What could my father have possibly done to my mate? Had he somehow figured out who Liam was and tried to hurt him in order to keep him from seeking me out and claiming me?
I’ve heard of stories in the past of that happening, times when alliances between packs were forged in blood rather than through conversations. They were horrifying tales that used to keep me up at night, even with my grandmother trying to soothe me to sleep.
