Chapter 16. Out in the Wild

Before this, when I’d first encountered Liam in his wolf form, I had no time to register how beautiful it truly was. That night, he’d pinned my face down and ground it into the earth, his low growling as he told me to leave had kept me from really seeing him then.
Now that I get to it, I stand in awe to take in the lone alpha with hardly any qualms about having no pack to stand behind him.
His coat catches silver in the moonlight above us, gray coloring mixed in to darken parts of him along his back and his chest. The thick hair looks soft to the touch, prickling slightly at the nape of his neck while he watches me closely—observing me. He stands tall, and proudly, his ears perked for any other animals wandering by.
