For the following few days, I keep a close eye on Iris and her comings and goings—who she talks to, where she goes in between classes, and who she hangs out with afterward.

I want to trust Ainsley’s intuition about her friend, I do, but I’m also keenly aware of the fact that she’s been raised by a monster her entire life who’d done everything in his power to keep who he really was from her.

Ainsley’s had no short of a hard life living under Cyrus Lovett’s rule, but that’s nothing compared to the torture my packmates have and are currently being forced to go through to serve him. Ainsley not knowing about any of that isn’t her fault, and it never will be. However, that doesn’t mean she’s able to get a good read on anyone having that many blind spots.
