Chapter 95. A Late Night Meeting

Getting to Windaster in the middle of the night in the winter was not my best idea.

Even riding on the ATV, the trip was hard on Iris, the cold affecting her way more than me. By the time we see Windaster’s pack lands, I’m desperate to get her inside and warm.

The patrol units are suspicious as we even roll up to the border and kill the ATV, their sharp eyes narrowing when we slide off the seat and approach. The moment they recognize me though, I watch them relax a bit though stiffen as soon as they notice Iris is human.

I don’t blame them. With all of us on high alert from the Hunters, it’s not exactly wise to bring one along to enter another pack’s lands. Thankfully, Iris stays behind me, giving me enough room to talk to the patrol without hovering and making them more nervous than they already are.

I lift my chin. “I need to speak with my grandfather.”
