I panicked internally as Nikki directed the security man to let Rebecca in. I was getting mad beyond my capacity at how inconsiderate Rebecca was, especially since we had just met in my office only a few hours ago. I thought if she pissed me too far, I would give ahead to press charges on privacy invasion without hesitation.

“I’m not going to allow her into this house.” I focused on my reality one more time and cut in with Nikki and the patient man still standing there, waiting for my decision. “Whatever it is she wants, I’ll go speak to her myself,” I said, turning around to meet Nikki’s gaze, and on seeing the frown that she had, I immediately went to her side and gave her a small kiss on her forehead.

“I’m sorry,” I said when I pulled away. “Don’t worry about anything, I know how to deal with this.” I assured her and looked up at the man, “Come on.”

I left her slipping into the couch with a childish pout and sighed in relief when she cooperated.
