Book 4: Chapter 42

I awoke slowly, the next morning, dreaming that I was burning in an oven and being pinned down in a pan. It took me several moments for my disoriented mind to realize I was just trapped in the middle of Kevin and Alyssa. Both had an arm and a leg tossed over me as if they were my own personal body shield. However, there was a quite demanding urge for me to get up, not to mention I had sweated at least half my body weight out last night, and now I felt like a sticky monster.

I began to poke at them, but the only one to even slightly wake up was Kevin, who murmured something about the cookie monster and rolled over. I did not hesitate once I found an opening and gradually unwind my limbs from them before dashing into the bathroom.

I took a long hot shower, fully expecting one of them to be awake once I was out of it.
