Chapter 22
He sat at the distant corner of the room, writing late into the night. Despite the hour, he showed no intention of retiring to bed, while she, already drowsy, reflected on the long day of submission.
She knew he was still uncomfortable with her sudden change and was glad about it. At least she wasn't the only one apprehensive about the next move.
Rubbing his eyes with his thumb, he noticed her yawning. Realising she couldn't wait any longer, he watched as she started to undress.
"No," he shook his head. "Do not go to bed now; stay with me."
She sighed and sat back on the bed, trying her best not to shut her eyes.
"Don't sleep, Maya! Wait a little more," he said again, snapping her out of a drool, almost enveloping her. She shook her head, determined to obey him, watching him scribble on paper, still in the white shirt he had returned with from work.
She yawned
