" I missed everything about you, Maya," he continued, trailing the murmurs against her lips, parting the robe with his hands while he planted kisses on her collarbone.

 Butterflies dancing in her belly.

Suddenly, he stopped to look at her face, discomfort tearing at her every angle. Her head filled with silent prayers, hoping he wouldn't see her distress and spot the injuries. If Derinem were right, the balm would ensure no scar remained after a day.

He stood straight, and she quickly lowered her gaze, avoiding the eyes that bored into her face.

"Where's Derinem?"

The name sent the hairs at the back of her neck rising. She swallowed. "I don't know, Maestro."

He smiled, folding his sleeves up his arms, "Good thing you don't know." he walked to the exit, "I'll be back," and he was gone, closing the door quietly behind him.

She heaved a sigh of scared relief and sat back gently on the bed, fingers patting her cheekbone.
