Chapter 135. Theodore’s Abode (2)
Stepping into the mouth of the pit, Hubert could feel the heat intensifying around him, as though he were walking into a furnace. Theodore floated just inches away, hovering half a meter above the metal surface that constituted the pit’s floor, positioning his abdomen at Hubert’s eye level.

"Theodore!"
Hubert called out relentlessly, employing every name he could think of to awaken his sibling, yet Theodore remained unresponsive. Left with no other option, Hubert extended his hand to touch him. But before his fingers made contact, the figure before him vanished, metamorphosing into something altogether different.
What now floated before Hubert’s eyes was the energy eye he had previously glimpsed at the back of Theodore’s neck. The eye orbited in the air and its connecting threads of blood seemed to sever ties with streams of molten magma.
