Chapter 22. Date Plans

I had no idea how I fell asleep until one of the maids came to wake me up to tell me about breakfast.

“Thank you,” I said to her and dismissed her. I got changed and went for breakfast. “Can we talk after breakfast?” I asked my parents.

“Do we have a choice?” Mom asked joking and I laughed.

“Not exactly,” I said to her. She smiled, nodded, and then turned to look at Dad.

He looked up at me and kept on eating. I finished my meal and waited for my parents to finish theirs. It felt like it was taking forever or my father was intentionally eating at a snail’s pace just not to talk to me but I was determined.

“Apa! The meal must be so delicious,” I paused and waited for a reaction, I got done but I got his attention. “Do you want more?” I asked and stood up, offering to fill his plates with more servings of rice and curry.

“No, this is fine,” He said dismissing me.

“Okay Dad, I and Mom will just watch you eat,” I said and stared intensely at him.
