Chapter 23. The Date
I sat on a reclining chair and watched the nurse fix the iv lines.
“Does it hurt?” My driver asked.
“Not really,” I said and watched how slowly the fluids flowed through the iv lines into my veins.
“You made a face,” He commented.
“The needle piercing into my skin hurts, but that’s all the pain,” I assured him.
“So we wait till the fluids are emptied into your veins?” He asked and I nodded. “With that speed?” he asked.
“It takes forever but this is the price I have to pay for my health,” I said to him.
“I hope you get better miss,” he smiled sadly.
“Like you said I am like your daughter, don’t you think calling me Mei Xing sounds better,” I teased changing the subject.
“I can’t miss,” he said and I didn’t force it.
“Are you going to wait for me in here or you’re going to go home? I will call you as soon as I am through,” I said.
“I am not needed in the Lin’s mansion so I will wait with you. But if you want me to leave
