“You’re a kind boy, my son,” his mother had told him, voice soft yet vague, and faceless, blurry features. At that time, they didn’t have the luxury of taking photos. The only ones they ever had were those of when his parents were younger, and when his mother had that framed wedding photo by her bedside.
Even as Mikhail tried to remember it, he couldn’t quite recall what his mother or father looked like. It had been too long. More than a hundred years, to be exact. He couldn’t even remember the exact date of when he turned.
When he became a vampire, all his past memories turned blurry, as though trying to see something out of focus. His senses had heightened, his mind became muddled with all sorts of thoughts, and his body and soul were exhausted yet reenergized at the same time. H
