It seemed that his guess was correct; the vampire’s leg was bent in a twisted way, making it difficult for him to chase after the human. The male vampire had curly red hair, with tattered clothes and skin a pallid, sickly hue. His nails were extended into sharp claws, ready to attack and kill.
The human woman, on the other hand, was cornered, hands trembling as she clutched a small knife in her hands. It was obviously an inadequate weapon against a vampire, but it wasn’t like she had much of a choice.
Her eyes were wide with terror, her breaths coming in ragged gasps.
In a blur of motion, Mikhail crossed the room and slammed a hand against the rogue, effortlessly knocking the vampire off its feet before it could reach the woman. The impact sent it crashing into a nearby wall, the force rattling the entire house.
