Chapter 37

A year after the last chapter ...

“Do you still want to come back here?” That question has become my go-to since Levi kept saying he couldn’t wait to move to Bali. His answer has always been the same, “To continue my battle,” among other similar lines.

After he vacationed here with his parents, our communication was not as intense as before. I had been busy with work, and Levi had to sort out some documents and all that jazz before he could move to Bali. We used to video call twice a week, and then it turned into only once every two weeks, and even then, it was always brief. He always said he was exhausted, and I had never inquired more. I told him to care for himself and not end up in the hospital. Most of the time, he was the one who initiated the call, but this time, I insisted that I wanted to talk about something important, and I couldn’t wait any longer.
