“Is something wrong?” Levi casually stepped out of the apartment, still shirtless but carrying a t-shirt as I guessed he had just taken a shower because his hair was wet. Could he hear my voice from his apartment, or was it just the right timing? I was unsure why he could tell something was wrong when I talked to Mama in Indonesian.

Levi seemed eager for my response, so without much thought, I blurted out, “My dad got admitted to the hospital.”

“What? What happened? Stay there! I’ll come over.”

I hurriedly opened the door for Levi and then walked back to the living room. Even though Mama said, there was nothing to worry about, who could stay calm when their parent was hospitalized? All I could think about was how to get to Jakarta as soon as possible. I needed to find a ticket immediately. I wouldn’t be able to sit around and wait for news. I decided to follow Mama’s advice for not informing my brother yet. There was no use in him panicking if my DadDad was okay. O
