Chapter 44

“Hey, why didn’t you tell Levi was coming with you to Jakarta?” 

I panicked when I saw Theo in the apartment after returning from Jakarta. Not that I wasn’t happy, but he didn’t mention he’d be at the apartment. The last thing I needed was an argument because I was so exhausted. So, I did my best to be happy with his presence. 

Since I dropped Levi off at the airport, I didn’t contact him, and he seemed to understand and kept his distance. Honestly, I didn’t know why I acted that way toward Levi. Maybe I was overwhelmed and needed an outlet, and Levi was right there. 

Due to our temporary cold war, he asked Mama about my father’s condition, which prompted Mama to ask me about what happened. I couldn’t answer her because nothing was happening between Levi and me. It was just me being immature and prioritizing my ego as usual.

I should have felt relieved because Levi was figuratively not breathing on my neck so that I could focus on something
