Chapter 49
I refused Theo’s invitation to stay at his place once we arrived at the airport. After spending time together, I needed some alone time. The first place I went to was the balcony. Holding a beer, I stretched my legs and couldn’t resist glancing at the next door. Despite the balcony lights being on, the apartment itself was dark. I had no idea where Levi had gone. What the heck did it matter to me?
The rest of the vacation went well without any drama. It seemed we both knew how much we needed to be civil to one another for once. But being with Theo also made me realize something I had been avoiding admitting to myself. What I initially thought was the best decision turned out to be backfiring. Damn! I never thought it would be this complicated.
As soon as I noticed the lights in Levi’s apartment, I straightened up my body. A moment later, the balcony door opened, and I expected to see Levi, but it was Marcus instead.
