“He left already.” Levi seemed genuinely puzzled by my question about Marcus. “Why? Do you need to talk to him about something I shouldn’t know?”
“What are you doing here?” I replied, ignoring his question about Marcus.
Levi sighed. My response to seeing him at the door certainly bothered him. “Can I come in, please? My hands are full.” He lifted one arm, carrying a paper bag with wine. “What have I done this time to deserve your snappy attitude?” He grumbled without looking at me.
I followed him to the kitchen because I couldn’t kick him out with a silly excuse. He had a right to do whatever he pleased on his balcony. He rented that building. “I cooked your favorite dish,” he said, uncovering the plate and showing it to me.
