Alan strolled into Sergeant's office and grabbed the package, giving it a quick once-over to ensure it was still sealed. Stepping back into the main area, he called out, "Hey, Sergeant, do me a solid. While I'm out, see if you can rustle up a judge and suss out where we can snag a marriage license. I wanna tie the knot before we head back to the ranch. Oh, and don't forget your Sunday best!" With that, he dashed out the front door and made a beeline for home.
Sergeant trailed after him, hollering, "You city slickers and your jokes! I swear, I'll make you eat those words with a side of humble pie!"
Back inside the building, Susan couldn't help but smirk at the sight of Sergeant returning, cheeks flushed with frustration. "Aw, look at you, all riled up. You're kinda cute when you're mad, cousin. So, spill it—how long's it been since you got some action?"
