Chapter 20. Intruders

Noticing her sudden stillness, Rhia turned to her friend and amusement flicked past her eyes when she saw her reaction to Elijah.

“He brought me here. We didn’t want anyone to see us and we have to leave very soon before they pick up his signature,” Rhia explained.

Layla’s lips were parted, and she could only nod like she was in a trance. Well, Elijah did have that effect on people.

“Are you healed completely? How’s the limb?” Rhiannon asked, and Layla finally tore her eyes off Elijah.

“It’s fine,” Layla’s face fell, “You know, I informed the Pack house that you were missing after the south Wolves chased after you. Eleanor and Ethan arrived first and we subdued the south wolves when I told them some had gone after you, but they didn’t seem... bothered. Even when I saw Alpha Killian and mentioned it, he didn’t seem to care at all. I then tried to go looking for you myself but they wouldn’t let me out of the house.
