Chapter 99. The Final Meeting

Nathaniel’s POV

It was time for the meeting. The night before, Ivy had come back home, and even though Ferdinand advised me against allowing her into my compound, I still let her in. I slept in my office while she slept in the room. Kael’s room was under a full-day watch. Even Ivy couldn’t go in except with my permission.

I wanted to be sure she couldn’t do anything to hurt him within the few hours that she’d be at the mansion. I wanted him to be with Rose till I was done with everything, but Rose was going to show up at NIPCON later today.

The drive down to NIPCON was full of mixed emotions. Ferdinand tried to lighten up my mood by engaging in small talk, but I just couldn’t feel better. The kind of surprise I had put together for William was terrible. He would be spending the rest of his life in jail if care wasn’t taken, and even if he didn’t, he would be very poor after still spending a considerable amount of time in jail.
