I hear the gentle sound of the double crying that comes through the baby monitor and smile. I stand up, excusing myself from both and head to the babies’ room. I find them awake and together. I smile when I greet them with a brief “Hello,” and they both stop crying. I pick up Ariel; my little one is completely agitated, but when I pick up NamHa, holding him carefully in my arms, I feel complete as I return with both to the living room.

“Hello, love,” Harin walks over to me, kissing NamHa’s forehead and then Ariel’s. “Skyla, these are my children,” he says. I approach her as she stands up and see her smile, looking from one to the other. “Ariel and NamHa, my two treasures.”
